Contracts
RfTek has the flexibility to meet the client's needs based on project types, delivery schedules, cost, and accounting requirements. RfTek generally operates using three types of contracts:
1. Fixed Price
This type of contract applies when the project is:
- Well defined
- Highly competitive and RfTek has a competitive advantage
- An opportunity for RfTek to increase expertise or strategic advantage
The client benefits from the knowledge that there is a fixed price relative to the deliverables. This contract specifies the total cost of the project, the delivery date and a description of the deliverable
RfTek has completed several projects under this contract type. Examples of these include:
- EMC review of 4 to 20 layer circuit boards
- RfTek reviews of a brief description of the product before submitting a quote
- Price for this type of project has ranged from US $800.00 to US $4000.00
- EMC Training
- Training programs can range from intensive 5 day courses on EMC regulation and EMC program management to 1 day courses on basic RF knowledge.
- RfTek offers training programs that can be customized to fit the client's needs.
- RfTek can perform 1 day to 1 week training programs ranging from US $800.00 to $5000.00.

2. Time and Materials
RfTek will perform these types of contracts when the project is not very well defined or when the client wants full control of RfTek's tasks. Typically a cap is placed on the purchase order by the client. The client is protected from time "over-runs." RfTek provides a detailed timesheet with the project invoice for client approval prior to payment. All time RfTek spends in the project is accounted for in detail. Materials, travel, etc. are invoiced at cost.
RfTek has performed several contracts of this type. EMC testing services under the direction and supervision of the client are typically provided under this type of contract. Per hour rates based on the level of skill required for the job and the number of hours required range from US $60.00/hour for very basic testing to US $150.00/ hour for advanced testing, R&Dmethods, and diagnosis and mitigation services.
3. Monthly Retainer Fee
This type of contract works with clients that want to have the convenience of using RfTek consulting services on a regular or occasional basis. A specified amout of time availability is agreed upon on a per month basis. An example of this type of contract is a client who requests test plan reviews on a monthly basis. The typical cost of a contract of this type would be about US $800.00 to US $2000.00 per month, and is limited due to RfTek capacity.
